	Alcohol and Drug Counselors The NJ Board of Social Work Examiners Alcohol and Drug Counselors Committee requires minimum continuing education as follows: For LCADs, 40 hours every two years; For CADCs, 60 hours every two years. Statutes require that continuing education must be from approved sources such as NAADAC (13:34C-5.3). Social Workers The NJ Board of Social Work Examiners requires minimum continuing education as follows: For LCSWs 40 hours every two years; For LSWs, 30 hours every two years; For CSWs, 20 hours every two years. Statutes require that continuing education must be from approved sources such as the ASWB (13:44G-6.4). Professional Counselors All professional counselors and associate counselors are required by the State Board of Marraige and Family Therapy Examiners to complete 40 hours of continuing education every two years. Statutes require that continuing education must be from approved sources such as the National Bureau of Certified Counselors (NBCC) or NAADAC (13:34-15.4). Marraige and Family Therapists All MFTs are required by the State Board of Marraige and Family Therapy Examiners to complete 40 hours of continuing education every two years.
